Oh, it’s a big one this week. The biggest! This Thursday, Aug. 25 during our Bottoms Rupp Happy Hour (3–5 p.m. MDT), .COM and .NET domain names will be just $0.99. That’s very inexpensive. Less than a dollar, even. So if you’re interested in a new .COM or .NET, I dare say this is the best time to buy one all year (until we do this again).
Root for Denver this weekend, because it means big domain discounts on Monday
In honor of Sunday’s game (which is of course exclusively called The Big Game, and nothing else), we’re having a big domain sale. But the sale depends on the outcome.
We’re rooting for our hometown team, so if Denver wins, you can use the promo code CHAMPS get some huge discounts on a big list of domain extensions, including $0.99 .ROCKS, .SOCIAL, and .NINJA. The sale will begin at 9 a.m. MST on Monday and end at midnight.
Name.com is making an important update to its tax collection policy. On Sept. 1, 2015, we’ll begin charging Value Added Tax (VAT), which is a required tax on business-to-customer transactions in the European Union.
If you’re a business in the European Union you can get an exemption from this tax by submitting your VAT ID from within your Name.com account. It’s recommended that you submit your ID as soon as possible, because VAT will result in an approximate 20 percent increase in charges, and is collected for both manual and automatic transactions (like recurring billing). However, VAT is refundable if you submit your ID after Sept. 1.
