We’re very excited to show you guys a sneak peek at our new office space! Our current office has served us well for the past few years, but we’re happy to say that we’ve outgrown this space and it’s time to move to an office that can handle this and future growth. There’s a lot of demolition that needs to be done at the new place, so we won’t be moving until closer to the end of the year.
And here’s what our new office looks like (pre-demolition):
This new space is a lot bigger and actually used to be a gym; almost everything in the middle including closets, showers, hot tub (sniffles), etc. will be torn down so you’ll be able to see clearly from one end to the other. Even though we’re moving, we want to make sure we keep the open and creative feeling of our current office.
It’s an exciting time at Name.com and we look forward to showing you more as things progress with the new office!
It was a gorgeous day in Longmont this past Saturday and everyone had a blast on their different rides. Of course, I’m the only one who literally had a “blast” when I got a flat shortly after my halfway point. But the Tour staff were a great help and got me back on the road in no time.
Our Name.com jerseys caught the attention of quite a few people and we even ran into an enthusiastic customer out on the road, which is always a pleasure..even if we are sucking wind at the time.
Great ride, great cause. We’re really glad we participated. 🙂
Six Name.com employees, including yours truly, will be partaking in the event and as you can see we’ll be sporting some pretty awesome cycling jerseys as we ride around scenic Longmont, CO. In addition to the swanky jerseys, Name.com is also proudly sponsoring the funds each rider has to raise for the cause.
We invite any local Name.com fans to come cheer us on, or even join us for a much needed beer after the ride. Cheers!
Happy Monday! We’re feeling a little inquisitive again, and this time we’d like to hear about some of the funniest misspelled domains you’ve registered.
Does this sound familiar? You think of an awesome domain name, you find that it is still available, and with the swiftness of a fox you push that checkout button…only to find out that “elite” does not in fact have two “L’s” in it.
Unfortunately this happens to the best of us. We want to know what some of your funniest misspellings have been, and just like last time we’ll give out $25 in account credit to a random commenter. So bring on the comments!
Here’s a short video we put together that offers a glimpse into life at Name.com as a community focused, innovative company that loves our customers, ping pong, and of course beer. We hope you enjoy. 🙂
After almost three weeks, our unintentionally epic ping pong tournament came to a nail biting end as Sky defeated Owen in three games. Judging by the comments on our last post, most people had their money on either Matt or Owen, leaving Sky an opening to sneak in and take the title of Ping Pong King of Name.com!
Of course, now this just means some of us will be stepping up our game to get ready for the next tournament and Sky will have his work cut out for him if he wants to hang on to that trophy. 😉
We love participating in the local tech scene, and we’re excited to announce that we will be a sponsor at this year’s WordCamp Boulder! This year the conference is moving from Denver to Boulder and into the historic Boulder Theater. The speaker list and schedule are already up and it’s looking like it’s going to be a great day for WordPress fans!
We’re really looking forward to the event and a couple of our team members will be attending and joining in on the fun. If you run into us, we’ll have some Name.com goodies on hand to give out. Cheers and happy blogging!
Every so often we like to indulge in a little friendly competition amongst the Name.com team, and we thought it was high time for another ping pong tournament! We’ve posted the bracket for round one over on our site and we’ll be updating it along the way.
Want to join in the fun? Post your pick for the winner in the comments and whoever guesses right will get one of our awesome new pint glasses! Don’t be fooled by our pictures though, some of us aren’t as tough (or goofy) as we may seem. 😉
Update: Just to clarify, you just have to pick the winner for the entire tournament, not each matchup. 🙂
Name.com pint glasses you say? Heck yes! We’re pretty excited about these awesome bits of schwag and we’re already thinking of some cool ways we can give them out to the community. Keep your eyes on this blog for a chance to enjoy a tasty beverage in your very own Name.com glass.
Our bags are packed (okay maybe not yet) and we’re headed off to the big easy for three jazz-filled days of domains and networking! Geodomains are nothing new, but like anything “location-based” these days, they are starting to gain more mainstream popularity. If you’re a small business, this presents a great opportunity to geo-target your customers. If you’re a domainer, there is ample opportunity to build out and monetize a geodomain.
We’ll admit, we’ve been excited about geodomains for some time now. If you haven’t checked it out already, our Geodomain search tool is a pretty nifty project we’ve been working on. But shameless plugs aside, we’re really excited for the sessions and networking events that Associated Cities have lined up for this year’s GeoDomain Expo. If you’re going to be in New Orleans this week and you want to meet up, give us a shout! We’d love to meet you.
