DO YOU HAVE A MICROBLOG? WHAT ABOUT A TUMBLR ACCOUNT?

If you haven’t embraced the idea of blogging as a way to improve your brand identity, it’s time to start. We suggest using a Tumblr account. This site is like taking the best of Facebook, Twitter and blogging and rolling them together in a great big branding burrito. And just to be clear, the only difference between a blog and a microblog is the size. Microblogs tend to be one liners, single images, short shorts and the like while blogs tend to go more in depth.

The best way to use a microblog is to pique the interest of the customer in short bursts to let your customer base know of a special event or new promotion. Because these sites can be linked to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Foursquare and every other social network out there, they become a destination hub. The company can control everything on the microblog page and get users there fast through a plethora of socially based apps. They are a great way to create and maintain a sense of engagement with the customer on a one-to-one level.

Why use Tumblr? The site is currently seeing roughly  4.5 billion impressions a week. Yes, billion! It is one of the most widely used and viewed microblogs in the world. It got this way by embracing a visually driven media approach. Because people are visual creatures, this short visual interaction has a far better chance to stay in the memory than a written or spoken pitch. By connecting your brand to the idea of visual stimulation you will be able to generate more word of mouth advertising and more referred linking to your site. Each referred link is a potential customer. Users in the United States tend to be under 34 and heavy Internet and social media users inclined toward visual items. If you have a visually appealing product, this is a must-have component for your branding.

Tumblr is probably the simplest platform in microblogging. A Business owner with relatively little experience can have a page up and running in under half an hour. Not only that, they are consistently adding features and tutorials to help business owners get the most out of their Tumblr experience. You will have a simple platform that is targeted at a younger client base with considerable internal support for a very minimal time and capital investment. Tumblr is a great first step into the blogosphere.
