No matter how amazing Austin and South by Southwest can be, by day four you feel like you’ve been dragged through an insomnia swamp of bad choices and beer. There’s a dirtiness, a stickiness, a longing for a salad and your own bed. It is at this point, with tired eyes, raspy voices and the tension of four people sharing a tiny house for too long, that you find our team trying to get to our goal of 10,000 high fives.
Throughout the week, #HighFiveGuy has touched more people than a tent revivalist. And it would not be without exaggeration to say we’ve found religion in the streets. It’s the Cult of the High Five, and people love to participate, especially when a simple slap of the hand raises money for Austin Children’s Shelter. That’s what we’re doing, and this is just how close we are to our goal.
