With Spring upon us and fairer weather headed our way, it’s only natural for our weekend excursions to take us into the wilderness to hike, camp, and enjoy this tasty treat.

You might think the best part of camping is spending quality time with family and friends or enjoying the wonders of the great outdoors or some garbage like that. But oh no—the only reason you need to plan a camping trip is to gorge yourself on good old-fashioned s’mores. And I’m not talking about your run-of-the-mill marshmallow, sandwiched between a couple stale graham crackers along with a sad wedge of milk chocolate. I’m talking about the s’more to end all other s’mores.
What does that look like? It all starts with the marshmallow (extra points if they’re homemade), which must be painstakingly roasted near the campfire coals until it’s a uniform golden brown color all around. None of this catch-it-on-fire-and-then-blow-it-out-real-quick trash, which is frankly an embarrassment to s’mores eaters everywhere. Once you transfer the toasted marshmallow to nice crisp graham cracker, you top your confection with none other than a Reese peanut butter cup (You heard me right. Believe me, it transcends the humble s’more into a work of art.), which has been gently softened by putting it close to the fire. Sandwich it all together and boom—s’more bliss.
