Our home state was hit pretty hard with rain and the resulting flooding last week. We don’t like seeing our gorgeous state underwater, and we especially don’t like seeing our friends and family members in a state of distress. For people who are going through a rough time now, it can be intimidating looking for solutions. At name.com we thought we’d lend a hand by providing a list of flood relief-related links.

Resources for helping or donating toward Colorado relief efforts:

American Red Cross (1-800-RED-CROSS / redcross.org/donate)
The American Red Cross is known for working closely with local emergency crews. In this case, it’s working with both the Colorado National Guard and other local community partners to offer evacuation centers and shelter for individuals and families affected by flooding. If you’d like to support the efforts of the Red Cross in Colorado, visit ColoradoRedCross.org for more information.

The Salvation Army (1-800-SAL-ARMY / imsalvationarmy.org)
The Salvation Army is currently accepting monetary donations. You need to designate “Colorado Floods” with your donation to make sure it’s allocated to Colorado. You can also send the text message GIVEHOPEIM to 80888; this will donate $10 to The Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army is not accepting any items at this time, just monetary donations.

Help Colorado Now (HelpColoradoNow.org)
HelpColoradoNow.org is a joint project launched by the Colorado Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (COVOAD) and the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM). This project helps bring government agencies and non-project organizations together in a way that will streamline assistance in affected communities.

Harvest of Hope is collecting supplies for victims of the flooding. They’re looking for people to bring donations directly to their office at 2960 Valmont Road in Boulder. The items they need are: blankets, socks, canned meals, tuna fish, water, milk, beans, and peanut butter.

Boulder County Humane Society (boulderhumane.org)
The Boulder County Humane Society is currently accepting animals that need shelter in evacuated places.
