Dotmobi (.Mobi) is the first top level domain dedicated to delivering the Internet to mobile devices. With Dotmobi, mobile users will have access to made-for-mobile Internet content and services, making mobile devices as useful as a PC. Mobile Top Level Domain Ltd (mTLD) is the global registry for the .mobi top level domain.

Sunrise Registration

Sunrise Registration provides trademark holders with an opportunity to secure their trademarks as dotmobi names. This exclusive registration period is offered by mTLD to ensure the Intellectual Property rights of trademark holders. The Sunrise Registration Period is divided into two time periods:

* Limited Industry Sunrise - May 22, 2006 to May 29, 2006

During this period, the mobile industry will have the opportunity to register their Trademarks as dotmobi names. The mobile industry will be defined by mTLD and will consist of companies that are members of mobile industry organizations such as: GSMA, CTIA, MMA, CWTA and MEF.

Your organization qualifies to participate if you meet the following criteria:
1. Have registered (or applied for) your trademark, for which you want to register your domain name, before 11 July 2005.
2. Are a fully paid member in good standing of one of the above industry associations.

* Trademark Sunrise - June 12, 2006 to September 22, 2006

During this period, all other trademark holders can register their trademarks as Dotmobi domain names. Sunrise Requirements and Restrictions

Trademark owners will have to provide the following information when registering their names during the Sunrise Registration Period

o Trademark name (must be three or more ASCII characters)
o Trademark identification number
o Date of Trademark application (this date must be before July 11th 2005)
o Date of granting of trademark
o Country of trademark registration

mTLD will process requests for Sunrise using a first-come, first-served basis.

mTLD's systems and processes have been designed to make the application as easy as possible however it will not be possible to process incomplete registrations. It is up to each applicant to ensure that the information provided is both complete and accurate.

mTLD will randomly verify a trademark owner's documents during this period.

Domain names can be composed of ASCII characters identical to the textual or word elements of the mark only. Full details are available in the Sunrise FAQ.

Sunrise registrations are only accepted for a minimum term of two years up to a maximum of ten.

Premium .Mobi Names

The premium name list is a compilation of commonly used ("generic") words and phrases which .Mobi (mTLD, Ltd.) has set aside for equitable allocation using other than a traditional first come first serve basis. .Mobi's decision to implement a Premium Name list was done to:

*. Create a more level playing field in the allocation of these names.
*. Increase the likelihood that these domain names will more promptly provide the mobile community with new features and services.
*. Preserve the stability and security of registry operations.

In cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), .Mobi has developed a Premium Name Application process. The Premium Name Application Process for Trademark Holders will run from September 15, 2006 to October 13, 2006 and will be administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). After the conclusion of this process, .Mobi will begin to allocate the remainder of Premium Names.

A subset of the premium names will be sold via a Request for Proposal [RFP] process. RFP submittals will be evaluated for benefit to mobile users. The remainder of premium names will be sold via auctions, both live and online. Additional information is forthcoming.

Sunrise Dispute Resolution

Sunrise Dispute Resolution mTLD will provide a dispute resolution service for dotmobi domains registered during the Sunrise Registration Period. The Sunrise Registration Challenge Period begins August 28, 2006 and will continue until December 15, 2006. Dispute resolutions services will be provided exclusively by and must be submitted directly to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) (http://www.wipo.org).

*All Sunrise Challenges must be submitted to WIPO no later than 12:00 Noon GMT Friday, December 15, 2006.

*If your .Mobi trademark registration is disputed and awarded to a third party, we will not provide a refund for your purchase.

General Registration

Beginning September 26th 2006, dotmobi registrations are open to everyone. General registration will continue indefinitely. General Registration commences with a short two week registration period known as Landrush when desirable dotmobi domain names may be registered at a premium price.
