If you keep up with our Bottoms Rupp emails, you may have noticed one very peculiar detail: Every week there seems to be a new scathing comment about John Rupp tucked away in the header.
These comments, dished out by our very own Content Manager, Ethan Conley, are as varied as they are creative:
“Rupp might register rupp.rocks for his one-person geology discussion group.”
“Rupp live streamed a reading of his fanfiction novel and it totally bombed.”
“Rupp started a non-profit to repair his image on the internet. No donations yet.”
Could these statements possibly be justified? Is this the true nature of John Rupp? In the name of investigative journalism, we reached out to the man himself to get the full story.
The tale of John Rupp (not?) being the worst
There once was a Name.com employee, Steve, who decided to start this rumor that I, John Rupp, am the worst. Ethan, quite possibly the real “worst,” immediately thought he would steal this saying and make it his own. Shame on Ethan. Below you can see a small snippet of my everyday interactions with my fellow co-workers:
Some of the things that exclude me from actually being the worst:
- Being the nicest person in the office
- Bringing a great attitude to work every day
- Slashing prices every week so that our customers can get great deals on domains
In summation as to why my title of “The Worst” is factually incorrect, our Marketing Director, Ashley Forker, wanted to provide some insight for those who have been blinded by Ethan’s tarnishing of my character:
John Rupp is not the worst for the following reasons: He is always willing to pick up a project and carry it over the finish line no matter how lame the project is. He works well with just about everyone. He is really fun to chat with if you need a break – also good for walks. He pretty much never says no when you ask for help. And he is always willing to pose with a beer for an updated Bottoms Rupp photo.
So is John Rupp really the worst? Maybe not. But will his weekly disses in Bottoms Rupp emails continue forevermore? We’re guessing probably yes.
