Uplift Social is a new but rapidly-growing contender in the social media management game. Owen Smith, the company’s co-founder, recently spoke with us here at Name.com to discuss how the business got its start and what’s in store for the future.
How and when did Uplift Social get started?
Uplift Social was founded back in December 2014 by myself and my co-founder and CTO, Ainsley. With the explosion of social media in the last few years it has never been a better time for businesses to start growing their community and promoting themselves through social. We see a huge opportunity for growth and expansion in the social media management and marketing space—that’s why we jumped in and started Uplift Social!
Our mission is to offer a platform that delivers powerful social software with enterprise level capabilities at a price that can suit any size organization or business. We understand the importance of social media in today’s business landscape but we appreciate that people do not have countless hours to spend on becoming social media experts. Solutions like ours allow people to invest in an affordable monthly subscription and achieve the same results without the stress. Social is one of the most cost effective marketing methods in business today and it’s a wise investment for companies to utilize a system like Uplift when building an audience.
I know this is a competitive marketplace with established companies, but we see greater opportunity in offering a platform that is geared towards affordable pricing and the educational process behind becoming an effective social marketer.
How does Uplift Social help businesses succeed? What has the response been thus far from people who are using it?
Uplift Social provides businesses and individuals with a complete set of tools and features to manage their social media profiles from a single hub. We strive to make the social marketing process more efficient and productive for people.
We understand that social media marketing takes time and consistency to yield great results, but the trouble that many people face in business is a lack of available time. We help businesses succeed by providing tools to ensure they can continue with their daily routine without having the additional stress of finding time to allocate to social media. We save our customers hours of time every week!
Uplift has been experiencing strong early adoption from customers and has received great feedback. Our approach has been to build organic relationships with our customers to encourage an open exchange of both positive and negative feedback—this has been valuable and is important to us as it allows us to implement changes based on real customer feedback. With already thousands of happy and satisfied customer testimonials, we know that we are doing our job correctly and moving in the right direction. The major impact that Uplift Social has on our customers is time management and workflow productivity. We are super excited to continue adding more features and increasing our value proposition for our new and existing customers.
Why did you decide to use a .SOCIAL domain name for your website? What has the reaction been to your URL?
We liked the idea of using the new .SOCIAL domain as it adds a unique vibe which has a real trend in the tech space right now. Plus, our company is called Uplift Social so simply adding a dot in there kept everything looking clean. Uplift.Social—it’s cool, I like it!
What is the best part about working for your company?
We have a great product that we’re building and improving on a daily basis—constantly adding new features and capabilities, that’s exciting! We have an enthusiastic and talented team that is passionate about building an amazing product and delivering it to the marketplace. We have also been welcoming new faces to our team as we pick up growth. It’s awesome to be surrounded by a team that has a shared vision for our journey.
The process of building the company and the platform has allowed us to make some strong connections and relationships in the social media industry with individuals and companies who we are currently collaborating with to bring some awesome solutions to market. Where do you see Uplift Social going in the next 5-10 years?
We are positioning Uplift Social to be a trusted leader in the social media management space among our competitors. We offer a high quality product at an affordable price with an active and growing customer base. Our focus is to continue rapid customer growth and to build out more features on the platform.
As for the next 5 years, we want to establish Uplift Social as a reputable brand in the industry with some new, innovative approaches to social media management and marketing. We have a ton of fresh ideas and lots in the pipeline!
