It’s not unlike wearing a suit to a meeting, but this meeting takes place in an amazing fantasy world and the people you’re trying to impress are in the millions.
Cosplay Day is on a Saturday, August 29, but we feel you should do a rehearsal Friday at work. If your boss is against it, remind him or her that a happy employee gets more work done…so you can imagine how awesome it would be to have a heroic comic book legend doing your collating.
The rules of cosplay in general are pretty basic. They’re summed up pretty well in this slightly edited meme:
Ahh, how the time flies. It seems just yesterday that .NINJA was a newborn. Now it’s one year old. It’s grown so big! It’s taken its first steps! It’s eating solid food! It’s sleeping through the night … sometimes!
To celebrate, .NINJA domain names will be just $0.99 during Thursday’s Bottoms Rupp Happy Hour (May 28, 2015). The promo code will be announced at 3 p.m. MST, so bookmark the Bottoms Rupp page and check back for the code to join in on the savings.
When you’re approached by a fantastic group of women who want you to share in their love of craft beer, you make the most of the opportunity. What we didn’t realize is how much fun Colorado’s Barley’s Angels would be. After some beverages we hatched (brewed?) a plan to infiltrate the Great American Beer Festival at the Denver Convention Center. To say that the GABF is big is an understatement. This year it hosted over 49,000 people and offered nearly 4000 beers. How would we break through the teeming masses and get the word out about Colorado’s premiere group of femme ferments and our brand new .BEER domain name?
We’d listen. That’s right, a trick not completely unknown but is on the verge of extinction.
Here’s how you get a television show: You send your resume to a network and then they go bonkers and immediately draw up a contract. Or at least that’s how it happened for Sara Bendrick, who in one year went from landscaper to the host of I Hate My Yard on the DIY network. Truth is, she’s a landscaper before anything else, yet now she has to add the title of Internet Marketer. Don’t we all? No matter what we’re doing or creating, we have to be able to hustle. It’s the truth in an information saturated media landscape. It’s also why she joins us on The Web Address. We’re going to talk to Bendrick and her hired help (and name.com customer) Ashley “Networking Queen” Kingsley about what they plan to do to grow the popularity of her show. The DIY network has left it up to her (apparently they really live up to the Do-It-Yourself name) and we’re going to follow the show’s online growth.
The New Domain .DANCE is finally in general availability (GA)! That means that anyone who wants a .DANCE domain name can now get a .DANCE domain name. If you need a great website for your dance studio, or you’re a choreographer, or you’re anyone with rhythm and/or talent who needs some help getting your name out there, then find the .DANCE that is right for your business.
Also, in honor of this momentous occasion, we decided it would be a great idea to get you as pumped up about about this New Domain as we are.
Nobody breaks down the New TLDs like New TLD Nic, but here’s a quick overview of the latest news (really though, you can just jump ahead and watch the world-class video presentation). Not too long ago it seemed that only some of the IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names) were going to be released by the end of the year. But then, in a change and/or misinterpretation that only Nic can explain (read: video), some of the ASCII domain names like .BIKE and dozens of others might be delegated between October and December.
This is movement, folks. It’s the kind of announcement that a lot of registries, investors, businesses, and trademark holders didn’t think was going to happen until 2014, or about when Back to the Future II took place. Speaking of trademarks, one of the first ever New TLD customer tools is going to be unveiled soon. Nic shares that … and lets you know where you can get a slick ring tone.
The time for new TLDs is finally almost here! You’re excited, name.com is excited, everybody is excited! We thought we’d write a short (and animated!) story about what it’s like waiting for new TLDs and why the wait is worth it. But before we get to GIF story time, we thought we’d remind you of how awesome our new TLD watcher is. The watcher will let you know when your favorite new TLDs become available and give you frequent updates on the new TLDs in general. You can check out the watcher here. OK, you ready?
