Innovators, dreamers, startup owners, and Boulderites who are down for a week full of free food and major inspiration: We’re heading to Boulder for Boulder Startup Week May 16 through 20 with our friends from .CLUB, and it’s going to be epic.
This is event is free, open to the public, and we’ll be there all week armed with free domains, swag, and our incredible good looks. Find out where Name.com and .CLUB are going to be all week and how you can meet up with us.
Hack the Dot—6 to 9 p.m. at Quick Left, Boulder
We’re kicking off Boulder Startup Week with a bang by hosting Hack the Dot. This is a fun, low pressure hackathon event that lasts just two hours and involves free beer and pizza. Whether you’re a student, a marketer, or an experienced developer, Hack the Dot is a great way to get creative and have fun. You can sign up for the event here. (And hint: You can probably guess which domain extension we’ll choose.)
Boulder Open Coffee Club—8 to 9 a.m. at Boomtown
We’ll be at Boomtown bright and early to provide you with breakfast and a cup of joe before this open forum event. Make new connections and talk about the newest technology in a fun, interactive environment.
Hack a City: Working together for a creative good—6:30-10:30 p.m., Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art
That’s right, we’re hosting not one but TWO hackathon events during Boulder Startup Week. This event focuses on using technology to understand and meet the needs of artists in the Boulder area. Participants will have 3 hours to use City of Boulder census data to create a project that will make a difference in the lives of local artists. Sign up for the event here.
Basecamp + bikes—All day, everywhere
Keep an eye out for us on Wednesday, because we’ll be popping up all over downtown Boulder. Look out for us riding around on Name.com bikes to hand out swag and say hello to Startup Week participants. When we’re not there, we’ll be hanging out at Basecamp to get some work done, enjoy the steady WiFi connection, and (of course) give away free domains.
Job Fair—11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., Boulder Theater
Need a job? Hand out your resume to local tech companies who are looking to fill an open position. We’ll be there to reward you with Name.com swag and Bearglecorns, so feel free to stop by and say hello.
Tweets for Tacos—4 to 6 p.m., T/Aco
Before you head over to Ignite Boulder, fuel up with some free tacos. Just show up, tweet to all your friends about the free taco action happening, and you’ll get delicious tacos in return. Simple as that.
We’ll also be raffling off a Momentum bike from our friends at Boulder Cycle Sport. Make sure you grab your raffle ticket at the door and be there at 5:55 p.m. when we draw a name for the prize. The winner must be present to win the bike, so make sure you don’t miss the drawing.
Ignite Boulder—6 to 9 p.m., Boulder Theater
This event has already sold out, but if you’re lucky enough to have a ticket, we can’t wait to hang out and watch some amazing presentations. Presenters will take the stage to talk about a variety of topics through short, automatically advancing slideshows. This is a concept that has taken off around the world, but Boulder hosts the largest of these events regularly.
We’ll be finishing out what is sure to be a long week with a mellow final day back at Basecamp. Feel free to swing by, say hello, and grab yourself some Bearglecorn stickers or a free domain.
