TwitchCon 2016 took place over the past weekend, and it was as epic an event as one would expect from one of the most successful live streaming platforms out there. Here are the highlights of the event:

Seeing the incredible cosplay contest

One of the biggest events of the weekend was the cosplay contest, where talented individuals showed off their incredible creations. The categories included Sewing, Special Effects, Armor, and Larger than Life, and the winners of each category were awarded with metals and cash prizes.

Attending the TwitchCon Party

On Saturday night, we headed over to the TwitchCon Party, which took place at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. The evening included live music, gaming competitions on the Jumbotron, and a crazy number of attendees.

Entertaining spectators with our portable game, Twitch Target

Because this is Name.com we’re talking about, we weren’t just content to show up. Oh no. Instead, we debuted our “mobile gaming device,” Twitch Target: a game where attendees could attempt to toss Velcro balls onto a walking target board to win prizes and bragging right. Unfortunately for us, Twitch attendees have quite the arm on them, and Twitch Target fell apart after about a day of use. But keep an eye out for a new and improved version 2.0 in the future…

Hanging out in the expo hall

There was so much to do and see at the expo itself, and being in its epicenter was an experience in itself. The space was full of massive stages where attendees could wait their turn to demo the newest games, including Mario Maker, World War Toons, and Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. There were also panels and sessions happening throughout the weekend, where attendees could learn live streaming tips and tricks from some of the most successful people in the business.
