How can taking a selfie make a difference? We answered that question yesterday when we volunteered at Day 3 of Denver Gives week.
Armed with our cellphones and some KIND bars to give away, we headed to the 16th Street Mall to help promote the #GiveofyourSELFIE campaign, which encourages people everywhere to raise awareness of causes or charities they support.
Visitors to our booth wrote down their favorite cause or charity, then posed for a picture in our super cool Polaroid frame. After that, they shared the photo on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and other social networks to increase awareness for the cause and encourage others to do the same.
From the Make a Wish Foundation to Wounded Warriors, there were tons of organizations that visitors chose to promote and support.
Pretty cool, right? It gets better! Our Name.com Community Evangelist Jared Ewy was also there to reward do-gooders with delicious confections from Gigi’s Cupcakes.
If you would like to join the cause, it’s easy to do! Just take a selfie with the name of your cause or charity of choice, and tag it with #GiveofyourSELFIE. You can see your photo, and tons more on the organization’s website.
Selfies, cupcakes, and doing good. Not a bad way to spend the day!
