Name.net is one of several registrars operated by Name.com. All of these registrars are supported and run by the same team. Consolidating them will allow for better customer support, better product development, and an all-around better customer experience for you.
Combining all of our registrars will allow us to provide better support, more accurate knowledge base articles, and more promotions and discounts!
Your account will automatically transfer on Nov. 13, 2014. An email will be sent to you with a link to log in to your new Name.com account. You will be able to use your current username and password. Your account history (invoices, contact information, payment profiles, etc.) will be included in the consolidation.
If you transfer early using the button above, you'll get a promo code for a discount on Name.com products and services.
You can reset your username and password using your current registrar's lost password tool. Passwords can be reset using either your username or domain name. An email will be sent to the email address associated with your account, and will include your username as well as a link to reset your password.
Your old invoices will move over with all of your other account information. You will be able to access them within your Name.com account, just as you would have in your old account.
Your registrar and Name.com share the same systems, so there is no expected down time for your domains. Your account, domains, and services should transfer seamlessly.
When your domains are moved to Name.com, all of the records will move with them. The nameservers (custom or otherwise) will move with your domains. If you are using our nameservers, your DNS records will move with your domain.
While we feel this will ultimately provide long-term benefits to you with better support and more savings, we completely understand that this move may not be for everyone. If you have further questions or would like to speak to someone about your concerns, please email or call our support team.
While there are some pricing differences, for the most part all of the pricing should be very similar, and any pricing difference should be in your favor. For a list of all of Name.com's pricing, visit our pricing page.
If you have more than one Name.com account, you can merge them at any time using the account transfer tool. Further instructions are available in our knowledge base, or you can give our support team a call. We'd be happy to help you merge your account over the phone.
There are a few provisions that are different, but your current registration agreement is materially the same as Name.com’s. You can review the registration agreement here.
Yes, any account credit will transfer to Name.com.
