I write a lot of blog posts here at Name.com. After all, it’s my job. But I also read a lot of blog posts to learn what’s happening in the industry and to see what types of content people are most interested in learning more about. Although there are a lot of great tech and domain blogs out there, there are five that I always find myself coming back to. If you’re in the web industry, you should add all of these domain blogs to your reading list.

Domain Investing

Elliot Silver’s blog on Domain Investing offers everything from domain buying tips to breaking news in the industry. Elliot is extremely well informed and often draws on the thoughts and opinions of his readers to create a bigger conversation about the domain industry.

You should read Domain Investing if… You’d like domain investing tips, information about domain trends, and open discussion with other domain investors on a variety of topics.

Domain Name Wire

Domain Name Wire’s Andrew Allemann is on top of his game, and is often the first to break some of the biggest stories in the domain industry. His articles are a well balanced blend of information and opinion, and his podcasts (which often include interviews with some of the movers and shakers of the industry) are always enjoyable.

You should read Domain Name Wire if… You’re interested in breaking domain industry news, UDRP filings, and interviews with big names in the domain industry.

Circle ID

A great source of general internet news, Circle ID covers topics that range from internet security news to ICANN updates. But one of the most valuable aspects of this site is the opinion section, which is always full of thought leadership pieces from the biggest names in the industry.

You should read Circle ID if… You want access to a broad range of internet news topics and a wealth of opinion pieces from big names in the industry.

Name.Kitchen

Name.kitchen, created by Donuts Registry, focuses on New Domains and the ways they are being used by people from all over the world. The domain itself is a sign that the registry really believes in the extensions they offer, and their many interviews with other New Domain users are always inspiring.

You should read Name.Kitchen if… You want to see real examples of the creative ways people are using New Domains to highlight their website or business.

Rightside Blog

The Rightside blog is always interesting for two reasons: First, for its transparent reporting of Premium sales, registration numbers, and more; and second for its many examples of New Domains in action. It’s also cool to see that Rightside practices what it preaches—they use the domain rightside.news as the blog’s main URL.

You should read the Rightside Blog if… You want to insight into the inner workings of a formidable registry, and would like to see use cases for their portfolio of domains.

And, of course, if you’re not regularly checking the Name.com blog you’re missing out as well. We regularly share promo codes, website tips, domain use cases and more. You can sign up for weekly email updates from the Name.com blog on our homepage.
