It’s been just over a week since the release of .LIVE and .STUDIO, and what a week it’s been! Already, websites and URLs that use these domain endings are popping up and being used by companies that aren’t afraid to be innovative.

An extensive list of companies (which includes big names like 20th Century Fox, Absolut, Amazon, Dreamworks, Entrepreneur Media, Marvel, Major League Baseball, Microsoft, Oracle, Paramount, SoulCycle Inc., Twitch, Universal Music, and Warner Brothers) have already registered .STUDIO and .LIVE domains. While uses for these particular domains are still yet to be determined, there are a few key businesses that are already using .LIVE domains in particular to make a splash on the web.

It’s no surprise that a company that specializes in heart-racing stunts and daredevil antics was one of the first to use a .LIVE domain name in a big way. Rather than burying their ticket information within their main website, Nitro Circus now uses the URL nitrocircus.live to take web browsers straight to their tour dates page. In an interview with Rightside, Nitro Circus’s Senior Vice President and Global Head of Digital Michael Cowan said, “The ability to use www.nitrocircus.live not only simplifies the message, but also our brand and our URL are now the same which is fantastic.”

royalcaribbean.live

The voice behind the unofficial fan blog for Royal Caribbean International jumped on a .LIVE domain the day it became generally available—and had it up and running in a matter of hours! The domain, royalcaribbean.live, redirects to the site’s Periscope channel, where fans can experience Royal Caribbean cruises from around the world as they happen.

Of course we had to shamelessly promote ourselves too! Just like the Royal Caribbean Blog, we used our brand new domain name.live to make it easy for our wonderful customers to keep up with our latest adventures on Periscope. Connecting the domain to a live streaming site was super easy. All we had to do was register our .LIVE domain and use Name Apps to connect it to our existing Periscope channel with a single click. Pretty sweet, right?
