New Domains have brought about a whole new era of internet, and websites as we know them are beginning to change. Although big-name companies like Amazon and Apple have led the charge in securing and using new domain extensions, there are thousands of people out there that are using New Domains in exciting ways.

In our new monthly New Domain Ninjas series, we’ll highlight Name.com customers who are actively using new domain extensions in incredible ways.

In light of some very exciting news, this first post in our series will focus on .LIVE domains and how they’re being used to create solid online presences for many of our customers. Which brings us to our first featured domain…

summit.live

Earlier this month, attendees of Periscope Summit witnessed the reveal of a new name and a new domain for the live streaming conference. The event has been rebranded as SummitLive and adopted the URL summit.live as their website’s primary domain. The new URL is not only an exact match for the event’s name, but is also much shorter than the previous version.

ryan.live

Ryan Bell, founder of Periscope Summit, didn’t stop at rebranding the event to SummitLive—he adopted a .LIVE domain for himself as well! The Periscoper uses the domain name ryan.live as the main URL for his personal website.

nitrocircus.live

The daredevil team behind Nitro Circus was one of the early adopters of .LIVE. They use the URL nitrocircus.live to direct customers to their Tour page, where visitors can find a show near them. The memorable domain makes it easier for potential attendees to find more information about tour dates and purchase tickets.

jennyq.live

Jennifer Quinn, host of The Daily Q, registered the domain jennyq.live with Name.com to serve as a secondary URL for her website. Type the URL into a browser and you’ll be redirected to her main site. Using the shorter domain extension in addition to her primary one is a great way to encourage new visits while maintaining her existing web presence.

lisa.live

Singer and globe-trotter Lisa Sansouci is one of several Name.com customers using a .LIVE domain as a custom URL that forwards to a Periscope account. Simply type lisa.live into your browser and you’ll be redirected to her Periscope channel. The forwarded domain offers a much easier and direct way for followers to access her channel.

If you’re a Name.com customer who is using a New Domain extension in an exciting way, we want to know! Tweet your URL to us at @namedotcom and you could be featured in our next post.
