Canceling an outgoing transfer

Last Updated: May 14, 2017

When a domain is pending transfer at the registry it can be only cancelled by the losing registrar. This means that if you transfer away from Name.com, then we can cancel it, if it is pending transfer. Pending transfer is a 5 day period that occurs after you completed the email verification portion. Below are the outlined steps on how to cancel a transfer:

  1. Log into your Name.com account, click My Account and then click my domains.
  2. On the Domains page, click on the domain that is currently pending transfer out and you wish to cancel.
  3. On the Domain Details page there will be a notification at the top stating that "Your domain appears to be transferring out". To cancel the transfer simply click the "Cancel Transfer Out" link and it will be cancelled immediately.

That's it! The transfer is cancelled immediately.
