How can I transfer to Name.com?
Before you can transfer a domain, you need to make sure at least 60 days have passed since you registered or last transferred your domain, in accordance with ICANN policy. You’ll also need to make sure your domain is unlocked at your current registrar. As long as those two criteria can be met, you’re good to begin the transfer process.
While transfers may be slightly different depending on which registrar you are transferring from, the process should be similar to this:
- Get the authorization or EPP code from the current registrar for the domain(s) you want to transfer. This should be available somewhere on your domain details page.
- Navigate to our transfer page and put the domain name and associated codes into the field (if you have several domains to transfer at once, you can do so by toggling to the Bulk Transfer form).
- Your transfer(s) will be added to your shopping cart where you can go through the checkout process like normal.
- Once the transaction is complete, the transfer process will begin, which can take 5-7 days to complete. If you would like to speed up the process, contact the registrar that you are transferring AWAY from and they should be able to expedite the transfer for you.
