We’re not going to waste a lot of letters on words. You need more time to experience everything that’s taking place May 14-18 for Boulder Startup Week 2018.
Join our team: We’re hiring a Software Engineer
Calling all developers in the Denver/Boulder area: We’re looking to add a new full-stack Software Engineer to our team, and that someone could be you!
Why a hackathon-friendly office culture is good for everyone
We’re coming off of the high of a rapid-fire, two-day company hackathon, where we worked on a variety of projects that were pitched by members of our team. If your company has never participated in a hackathon before, it may seem a little counterintuitive to halt daily operations in favor of working on pet projects, but here’s why it’s a worthwhile pursuit.
Our security cameras capture what really goes down at the Name office
Like most corporate offices, we have security cameras set up around the office so that our office manager can monitor any potentially dangerous situations. But more often than not, these cameras have captured some truly spectacular incidents that are turned into GIFs and gleefully shared around the office. Check out some of our favorites.
Our best videos of 2017
As 2017 draws to a close, we’re looking back at the highlights of the year. As always, we’ve been busy putting together entertaining videos that invoke the Name.com spirit, which is quirky, honest, and a little bizarre. Check out some of our favorites that you might have missed:
How Name.com is helping the community during the season of giving
It’s easy to be caught up in the bustle of the holidays with gift shopping, vacation preparations, and festive baking projects. But it is also a time to be thankful for what you have and give back to the community if you can. Here at Name.com, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be supporting a variety of community organizations this year that are in need of help.
Hack the Dot for Boulder.Gives
This could be the most helpful Hack the Dot ever.
On Wednesday, Nov. 15, we’re joining Find My Flock at Boulder’s Galvanize to hack our way to better, more convenient ways to give. In a departure from the typical Hack the Dot, we’re revealing the domain name before the event. This should give you time to ponder the glittering greatness of what Boulder.Gives can be.
In loving memory of Kanye, the office fish
Maybe one of the harder parts about losing a pet is that their lifespan vividly brackets those years of your own existence, and leaves us to realize how quickly time passes. For Kanye, it was no different. But also for Kanye, there is the sting of a loss of a friend and a role model; something that not all Kanyes can boast.
We might have some skewed ideas of what constitutes “reasonable office supplies”
Even though it might be a little surprising to realize (considering that our entire business exists on the web), our employees work out of an office and need run-of-the-mill office supplies just like everyone else. But what we deem as necessary supplies can occasionally be disconnected from reality.
We switched to Slack and it’s going about as well as you’d expect
We’ve been slowly making the transition from Google Hangouts to Slack over the past few weeks, and it has been quite the learning curve for many of us in the office who haven’t used the platform before.
